RD Calculator

Recurring deposit maturity value.

What is RD?

Recurring deposit maturity value.

What does the RD Calculator do?

The RD Calculator takes your own numbers and projects the result using the method described below, showing every assumption rather than a single opaque figure.

How this is calculated — the formula

Each monthly deposit compounds quarterly for the remaining time left in the tenure — the first deposit compounds longest, the last barely compounds at all. This is why RD maturity is noticeably less than depositing the same total as a lumpsum FD.

Tax treatment

RD interest is taxed at your marginal slab every year it accrues, same as FD — banks deduct TDS if your annual interest with them exceeds ₹40,000 (₹50,000 for senior citizens).

Frequently asked questions
Is the RD Calculator's result a fixed outcome?

No — every figure here is an illustrative projection based on the assumptions you enter, not a promised or fixed return. Change any input to see how the result moves.

Is tax already accounted for?
